Winter Storm Stella Has Arrived!

When I opened my front door this morning (9:00 am) my yard stick measured 20 inches of fresh powdered snow. The problem is that it is still snowing and will continue throughout the day and night and tomorrow morning. I wonder what the total will be by then, perhaps as much as 30 inches?

4 hours later and we have 4 inches more! (12:00 noon)

I found this chart on the local news just now. (5:23- Fairfax has 30") It is still snowing and the latest news say it will be snowing until 5:30 pm tomorrow!

  1. Wow! That is crazy. Our neck of the woods (WA state) is just getting dumped with rain, rain, and more rain. We have received over an inch a day on some days. We are used to getting lots of rain, but this is excessive! I'm ready for it to stop. On the other hand, all this crummy weather gives me a great excuse to "play" in my doll room. Perhaps you are doing the same?

    1. I have heard that Washington state has had a lot of flooding from the storms. It is still snowing quite hard, guessing we have has another 3 inches since I took the photo this morning. Yes I am planning on playing dolls this afternoon,♥

  2. Also, I just wanted to say how much I love your Bing dolls. I wasn't able to leave a comment on those posts, but they are so sweet. I love Kathe Kruse dolls, too--I am fortunate to own one old one (which a dear, older friend once gifted me), and have recently purchased two, newer ones. I had heard about Bing dolls before, but never gave them much thought until now. Your two are adorable.

  3. Judi!!!! My gosh, look at all that snow! How does sweet Cooper manage to get out and about in the stuff? I am so glad you have the dolls to keep you busy. Somewhere underneath the snow, spring is waiting....

    1. Mary, to think we had temperatures a month ago in the 70's. We have had so many swings in the weather breaking all records for highs and lows. I and a lot of others are not happy to get this much snow so close to spring at all, the clean up will be tremendous and I am sure with the snow melt with warmer temperatures there will be flooding in some locations as well. "Tucker" is fortunate to have paths shoveled hourly by his Papa so all is good. He only stands about 12" off the ground, :)

    2. Judi, I had already been thinking about the mess you will have when the thaw begins! I am afraid I got confused on your doggie's names. Was Cooper the sweet little Corgi that you lost a few years ago? Tucker is lucky to have a Papa who looks after things like keeping paths shoveled! Take care, and good luck!

    3. Cooper was our Corgi, Tucker is a miniature Poodle we rescued a year ago and has stolen our hearts with his sweet personality. I dare say he and another poodle we had a long time ago named Cocoa have been the best companions. They are always wanting to please you and give the best kisses and cuddles you could ever ask for. Cooper was all about "what can you do for me today", LOL. Just like people, dogs have different personalities for sure.
