A New Project in The Works

I have two holiday shows coming up in November so I am working on new items to add to my current inventory left from last year. I am making Angel ornaments and little dolls sitting on antique calico fabric covered mache gift boxes; perfect for those small gifts or jewelry. The dolls are wired to the top and can be removed. I have three more dolls and boxes to finish.

"Emily" is Finished!

Emily is made from the "Hannah" doll head mold sold by Lynda Hampton.  She is 18" and is showing off her pink bonnet and dress trimmed with pink ribbon. Emily has very soft color palette, not antiqued like some of my Izannah Walker reproduction dolls.

A Very Special Event For Miss Lily

Miss Lily has had a very exciting day/evening yesterday. Her Mommy (Meagan) & Daddy (Adam) got married and she was part of the ceremony carrying a sign that said " Hey Daddy here comes Mommy". She spent the night before with me and Mark aka Nanny & Poppy. She told me at bedtime when we were all tucked in that her dress was just like Mommy's and she was going to walk down the isle and tell Daddy that Mommy was coming. She has a memory of an elephant! Sharing some pictures of the celebration that took place at Adam's folks house.

Miss Lily Meets A Horse

My great grand daughter Lily was introduced to horses today by her Aunt Nora and she was delighted. Lily will be three in August.  Where has the time gone?

A New Project Started

I had a request to make a painted lady on a paint brush so I decided to give it a try. I have some used paint brushes to work with, here are a few I have finished so far.

Queen Anne Inspired ~ Altered Art Antique "Masher Maidens"

My creative side could not take a break for long. It has been non-stop raining here so I decided the hoeing out for a huge barn sale will have to take the back burner for a little while. I hope to finish a total of 21 (for now) that I am working on by this weekend. Of course I ran out of paper clay which is due to arrive in the morning.

House Hunting is Fun!

I have been spending a lot of time searching the internet for houses for sale in Vermont trying to get an idea of market prices and the style of house and location we want to live in. It is interesting to see what is available but more importantly, what is affordable. We have a long way to go in our search as we won't be listing our house for sale until next Spring but I am having fun looking. Here are some homes that caught my eye in both exterior design and interior layout. Some houses are in the city limits and some are in the country, some are one level, some are two, some are old and some are new, so many decisions to make!

So Proud!

My grand daughter Meagan (Lily's mommy) graduated from Norwich University yesterday. We are all so proud of her for her persistence in accomplishing her dream.

Miss Lily

It has been a while that I have shown a photo of my great granddaughter Lily who will be three in August. Here she is resting in the forest after taking a hike with her Dad. She loves being in the middle of nature, can you tell?

New Adventures Coming in 2018

It is with both sadness and excitement that the time has come to move from our current home. When we purchased our house in 2003 it was so we could build an attached house for Mark's Mother Connie. She was able to live in her home next to us for six years before her dementia forced us to put her in a nursing home. She passed away on February 11, 2017 from pneumonia a few months shy of her 94th birthday. It was always our intent to buy our "retirement" home someday so this year is the year to start hoeing out our "stuff". I am sure there will be numerous barn sales and perhaps items on eBay. Needless to say I will not be making dolls for a long, long time. Thank you all for visiting and I hope to send a few updates as we enter this new phase. God Bless,♥

Peek-A-Boo!

Introducing Charlotte and Bunny. Charlotte is a life size toddler mannequin that is made of heavy cloth on a wired armature with stitched hands and feet and can be posed in many positions. My goal was to bring her to life by painting her face and hair, dressing her in a fabulous antique dress, a linen cap, leggings and leather shoes and giving her a name. Here is Charlotte and Bunny along with a picture of her before she came to life.
