My Garden Photos! Summer 2015

There is no flower I love more than a Lily so of course my gardens are full of them and the month of July bestows such beauty around my house because of them. When I retired in 2005, my employees gave me a gift certificate to a Lily farm in northern Vermont.  Mark and I spent over 2 hours wandering the gardens and picked out 12 varieties that have now multiplied and matured as we had hoped.  Here are some photos taken in the gardens this year.

Yesterday I made a new apron for my Izannah Walker doll, Eliza from antique fabric. Here are pictures of her in the garden this morning.

Izannah Walker Reproduction Doll~ Eliza SOLD

I ordered the "Eliza" reduced sized shoulder head from Lynda Hampton during her June sale on Etsy and could not be happier with the results using her body pattern (which comes with complete instructions and great tips for a successful project) and shoulder head. Here are pictures of my finished doll, "Eliza" and I do apologize for the poor quality, the lighting in my room wasn't great and I could not get my flash to work.

If you would like to order a kit for yourself, look on Etsy for TheLittleHamptons under the search for Izannah Walker dolls.

Caleb & Charlie SOLD!

I am patiently waiting for some satin ribbon to arrive for Jacob's outfit so I finished another doll I have been working on for a while. I ran out of paper clay mache which arrived Friday so here is Caleb and his wooden horse pull toy named Charlie. I found Charlie on Etsy and Mark was kind enough to add the turning wheels which were missing.  They are best friend now!

I did it!

I decided to put an antique finish to Jacob and am glad with my decision. It is so hard to decide after putting so much work into a project for fear you might mess it up. I think when he is all dressed up (tomorrow's project) he will look more like an Olde Time Doll.

Making Progress on Jacob, My Izannah Walker Boy Doll

I received my stockinette from Gail Wilson yesterday so today I applied a covering to Jacob. He now has two coats of gesso and artist acrylics and rubbed to a beautiful sheen. I haven't made up my mind yet if I am going to "antique" him because I like him just the way he is but I also like an antique look. I will think about it for a while. More pictures to come as I progress.
