The cider pressing is finished for the season and we yielded 90 gallons which is double what we have had in previous years. I signed up for two consecutive weeks at the local farmer's market so we made some money this year which helps considering all the work into the process. Everyone we have spoken to has stated that this years apple crop far exceeds previous years. My granddaughter Violet has been visiting for a week with her mom and dad, Teague and Sarah and daughter Johanna as well. We had a great family get together the other night with 12 people gathered for cider and nachos and salad. Watching the next generation of children was such fun. I saw this picture of my great granddaughter Lily picking (eating) apples this past week end and had to share it. Have a great day!

It's coming, Autumn is almost upon us. The nights are getting cooler, there is a damp fog in the early morning, pumpkins and mums are now for sale at the local store and the corn fields are almost ready for harvesting. It won't be long before we are seeing flocks of geese heading South, the black birds and Blue jays are already flocking together and making quite the ruckus around here. Enjoy the last days of summer my friends.
