My Latest Project~ "Izzie"

3/29/2014~ I made some changes to little Izzie today. She has a slightly lower forehead and a new Easter dress and bonnet.

It seems like ages since I made an Izannah Walker inspired doll. I just finished little Izzie yesterday, here she is with her little velveteen style rabbit I made last week from a Stacy Nash pattern.

A Fun Project with The Maida Dolls Group

Dixie Redmond has created a pattern from her original Babyland Rag Doll which can be purchased here:

Dixie asked a group of volunteers to create some dolls using her 14" Babyland doll pattern using their own imagination, click here to see the results of these talented artists:

Pictured here are my two dolls. I went outside the box and made "Babyland Kewpie/Googly Dolls".

Papier Mache & Cloth Queen Anne Doll

This Queen Anne is much more serious than others I have made, she has a more traditional look I think. She is made of cloth with air dry clay painted in acrylics. She has antique black pupiless glass eyes and a mohair wig. She is 13" tall.

Introducing "Heidi", a Remodeled Papier Mache Doll

I finished "Heidi" this morning and am very pleased with her new look. She is 11 tall, the perfect cabinet size. I wish I could apply and paint papier mache to myself to get rid of all my cracks and wrinkles since the results can be such an improvement, I think they call that a clown in my case however. Have a great day!

My Current Project~Remodeling a Papier Mache Doll

I bought this doll recently (real cheap) on Ruby Lane for the purpose of remaking her into a charming doll again. Today I applied the first layer of papier mache. I will let it dry overnight and begin the sanding and more sculpting tomorrow. She has beautiful clothes so I am very anxious to complete her transformation to show her off in her finery.
