Holiday Blessings!

Holiday time can be so busy so I thought while I was thinking of you all I would take a moment to wish you a happy holiday. Having visitors from around the world I may not know what you personally celebrate but my holiday wish is that you are blessed with family and friends to share it with.♥

Let Us Give Thanks!

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

My Latest Project~ A China Doll

(Click pictures to enlarge)
I recently purchased an antique cloth body and German china head from separate shop owners on Ruby Lane hoping to assemble them together. They worked so perfect that you would think they came together originally like this. I had some wooden hands that I painted white to match her face color and sleeved them into antique fabric to match the doll body to make arms. Below are pictures of the doll before and after. She is dressed in antique white cotton fabrics with embroidery and lace trimmings. I made her a pair of red leather boots to match her red straw bonnet, She measures 21" tall.

Emma~ An Izannah Walker Style Cloth Doll

Emma is 19 1/2" tall made of cloth with a molded pressed cloth head and shoulder plate. She has applied ears, stitched fingers and toes and separately applied thumbs. I made her dress from antique cranberry and white cotton calico fabric with an embroidered antique collar trimmed in lace. Underneath she is wearing an antique petticoat and pantaloons which are trimmed in the most exquisite lace.
